This week has been full of sports news both locally and internationally.
Locally, the week started with the Belfast Telegraph Sports Awards celebrating the success of our local sporting heroes. Not unsurprisingly Rory McIlroy walked off with the main award. Congratulations to all winners including our medalists at both the Olympics and Paralympics at London 2012. Special mention must go to Northern Ireland Sports Forum’s Ken Nixon who was a worthy recepient of the Paddy Patterson Award to recognise those who have served sport with great distinction.
Paddy Barnes needn’t worry about his post boxing career. You would struggle to find a funnier young man If comedy doesn’t claim him then motavational speaking might!
